What MapTools.co Provides
MapTools.co offers free online mapping tools for measuring distances, calculating areas, and visualizing geographic data. The tools are provided "as is" for informational and planning purposes.
Accuracy Disclaimer
Important: While we strive for accuracy, MapTools.co is not a substitute for professional surveying, legal boundary determination, or official measurements.
- Measurements are estimates based on map data
- Map data may contain errors or be outdated
- GPS and geocoding have inherent accuracy limitations
- Do not rely on these tools for legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions
For property boundaries, land transactions, construction, or legal matters, always consult a licensed surveyor or appropriate professional.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the tools for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to overload, hack, or disrupt the service
- Scrape or bulk-download data in ways that impact other users
- Redistribute our tools as your own product
Normal use for personal, business, or educational purposes is welcome.
Intellectual Property
MapTools.co's design, code, and original content are our property. Map data comes from OpenStreetMap contributors under the ODbL license. ZIP code data is from SimpleMaps under license - see Credits.
Limitation of Liability
MapTools.co is provided free of charge, without warranty. We are not liable for any damages arising from use of the tools, including but not limited to:
- Decisions made based on measurements or data
- Errors in calculations or map data
- Service interruptions or data loss
Use the tools at your own risk and verify important information independently.
Changes to Service
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of MapTools.co at any time without notice. We're a small operation and can't guarantee uptime or permanent availability.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be handled in accordance with applicable US law.
